Dear Friends,
IDP is halfway to reaching its goal of unlocking a $50,000 matching grant. If we can raise the other half by the end of the year, our partners at FJC will double your donations to IDP. Can you donate today to help us reach our goal?
With your support, we can continue projects like “Life Beyond Borders: Oral Histories," a unique collaboration that passes the mic to immigrants whose voices often go unheard. Launched in November, the project features narratives that highlight the impacts of merging the systems of mass incarceration and mass deportation.
"Life Beyond Borders" includes the powerful story of Eva Santiago and her husband Christopher Simmons. Eva is a child welfare advocate based in New York City. Her husband Christopher is currently incarcerated at Shawangunk Correctional Facility. Christopher is a facilitator for the Alternatives to Violence program, provides Transitional Service Readiness and is currently working on his Bachelor’s degree.
Read more about Christopher's story and find out how to help bring Christopher home at the New Yorkers for Clemency page.
This project was inspired by the extraordinary stories of everyday people who IDP has worked with in the fight for freedom.
Can you help us carry it on by donating today?
With love and solidarity,
The IDP Team
