Dear Friend,
As 2021 draws to a close, I have begun to reflect on our accomplishments over the last year. Together, we have been a force— not only to lead the fight for progress, but to win it.
At every turn we worked hard to ensure Arab Americans were heard. Here's a look at how we advocated for Arab Americans in the last year. With your help in 2021, we...
Advocated for Palestinian human rights.
Fought for accurate Census datasets and served as the only Arab American Census Information Center (CIC).
Testified before the U.S.Senate against harmful national security policies perpetuating profiling and discrimination.
Played a major role in the passage of the #JabaraHeyerNOHATEAct.
Strengthened our network of Arab American leaders and public service professionals.
Protected Arab American voting rights— 844-YALLA-US answered the call.
A year of hard-fought victories has placed us in a stronger position to continue this critical work in 2022. Yet, our ability to use this momentum relies on your continued support. AAI has been able to fund much of our work through the generosity of Foundations and grant programs over the last several years.
But the work we do is at the heart of the Arab American community— issues you care about like Palestine, free speech, and privacy, do not often attract outside funders. That's why we still need you.
I am deeply grateful for all we've been able to accomplish together in 2021— and have great hope for what we will accomplish in 2022.
