Income inequality. Gun violence. Racial justice.
Those were among the critical topics we discussed this weekend at a Senate
candidate forum in Denver. Most of my colleagues and I laid out bold plans
to tackle these challenges and repair our democracy.
No great surprise: Washington’s candidate wasn’t there.
Chuck Schumer and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee recruited,
endorsed, and are bankrolling a candidate who said he didn’t want the job
and wouldn’t be good at it. They should have taken him at his word.
We’re running a 24/7 campaign, organizing hundreds of events and
mobilizing thousands of volunteers to win the Democratic nomination and
defeat Cory Gardner. But this kind of grassroots effort takes money—and we
don’t accept any from special-interest groups.

The DSCC’s pick has skipped most of our forums, including last month’s
climate debate in Colorado Springs. So when it came to addressing the
fundamental moral test of our time, he was nowhere in sight.
The kind of campaign you run says something about the kind of senator
you’ll be. I aim to be as transparent, responsive, and accountable as Cory
Gardner is not.

that message to Washington by contributing to our campaign today.
