Dear Press Freedom Supporter,

When a journalist is killed, others hear the message. If no one is
held responsible, the killers are emboldened and the violence repeats.

That is why we do what we do-and why CPJ is committed to
fighting for justice.

For more than a decade, CPJ has waged a Global Campaign Against
Impunity. When a journalist is murdered, we talk to local authorities,
the journalist's family, and other local media, and highlight
the case in our work. We conduct advocacy around each murder,
including calling on government officials to bring the killers to
justice. And we publish our annual Impunity Index, which spotlights
countries where journalists are slain and their killers go free.

Just this year, advocacy by CPJ and our partners has helped win
convictions in the murders of eight journalists.

We will continue fighting on behalf of journalists under threat, but
we can't do it without you. Stand with us and call for justice.
Your year-end gift can help defend journalists all over the world who
risk everything to bring us the news.
