There is the family you’re born into and the family you choose. If you are lucky, the two are synonymous. But for many, especially LGBTQ+ youth, luck runs short on the “born into” front... Particularly during the holidays, this makes the family a young queer person chooses that much more important.

That's what we wrote in a new guest column for Newsweek [[link removed]] on the importance of "chosen family" for LGBTQ+ youth. It's also why we're hosting our first It Gets Better Holiday Extravaganza, a celebration with our chosen family of Twitch ambassadors, affiliates, It Gets Better Youth Voices and more.
