Dear John,

The majority of Kenya’s population live in rural areas with more than half living in poverty. Over 50% of the population mainly depends on agriculture for a living, however volatility in weather conditions such as floods, locusts and drought have impacted on food security and employment levels. Following the Sept 2021 declaration of a national drought disaster, the latest reports indicate coping capacities for many families have been exhausted leaving over 2.9 million in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. That is why African Enterprise focus on vocational programs and skills training in the slums of Kenya so people can lift themselves out of a life of poverty, especially those escaping the rural poverty and food insecurity issues.

The AE Kenya team under the leadership of Benson Omondi, are doing an amazing work reaching out to the people of Kenya through our lively Foxfire youth teams, the Pastor Training Course, AE’s Mathare Woman’s Tailoring and Sewing Project and the Korogocho Sanitation and Education Improvement Project as well as setting up an amazing Covid Response program. AE Kenya also runs the Soweto Kayole Primary Health Care Clinic that provides comprehensive care to the population of nearly 140 000 living in the slums on the outskirts of Nairobi. Our team is already in full swing preparing for the Reach Mombasa Mission that kicks off in 2022 where they will continue to spread the Gospel through word and deed.

Mombasa West Mission Testimony:

During the Mombasa West Mission in 2021, AE Kenya met Dan, a recovering heroin addict, that over a period of 20 years engaged in robbery and was in and out of prison. Through a government program Dan is now on his way to a full recovery. During our mission Dan passed one of the churches where the missioners were at work and asked to be served lunch, since he had not eaten for a while. He was given a meal and during that time the message of the Gospel was shared with him. Dan committed to love and to follow Jesus.

Let us pray:

*
For a successful establishment of the Proclaim Evangelist Network in Africa to bring together all evangelists in Africa for the total evangelisation of the world.
*
As the teams prepare for the Mombasa Mission that the churches in Mombasa shall continue to support the mission as they have done the last three years
*
For success in the mobilization activities in bringing in missioners from all over the world to preach the Word in Mombasa
*
For financial breakthrough to help in conducting the 2022 mission. The preparation phase which is critical for the success of the mission, depends on that.
*
For the Foxfire 2021 team as they now go to the universities, that they will empower other young people
*
For the recruitment drive for the Foxfires 2022, that the Lord will lead us to the right candidates who shall continue to influence the next generation.
*
That the Soweto Kayole Clinic land title (lease) will finally be issued
*
That the Lord will continue to use AEK Social Action interventions to bring relief and transformation to the lives of the poor
*
For political stability as elections will take place in 2022 and that the right people will be chosen to govern beautiful Kenya and its people.

God Bless,

Ben Campbell

Christmas Update from our founder, Michael Cassidy

'I am overwhelmed with embarrassment at the very long time it has been since last I wrote to you all in this way. But life, waywardness, mental laziness and procrastination can all play havoc with one’s plans and intentions. Carol told me the other day not to procrastinate on something, and I replied to her: “Sweetheart, one must never put off till tomorrow what one can put off till next week!” Now with my feeble excuses over, let me give you some of my news for 2021.
