On this day over a decade ago, Barack Obama became the first Black leader to be elected president of the United States.

It’s amazing to think how far we’ve come as a nation since then, and how many Black men and women have been elected to office because President Obama paved the way.

But when we look at who is sitting in the Oval Office today, it’s easy to wonder what went wrong along the way to wind up with a bigot as Command-in-Chief. This is our motivation, team.

We have to do everything in our power to make sure President Obama is not the final chapter of progress, but the first page. It’s time to elect the next Black president and other Black leaders to office at the local, state, and federal level. President Obama said it best, “We did not come here to fear the future. We came here to shape it.”

That’s exactly what we plan to do. We made history in 2018 when we elected the most diverse Congress in history. We will make history again in tomorrow’s election when we elect the next Black wave -- but not without your help, friends.
