Hi friend – it's Gary. I know it's late (and you've heard from me a lot this week), but I needed to get this last email out to you before signing off for the evening. 

You see, the 2022 election year officially starts in just over two weeks. I know it feels like every year is a critical election year these days, but I promise you this is a big one, and what you and I do in the next months really matters. I've seen firsthand what it's like to have Mitch McConnell in control: Bipartisan bills are killed before even reaching the floor, legislation that would really make a difference for Americans is denied a vote, and, any idea of compromise is shot down immediately. McConnell has spent years doing everything he can to ensure our government DOESN'T help working families.

But after less than 12 months in the majority, Senate Democrats have made real progress getting our country back on track. We got urgent COVID-19 relief to people who needed it, passed a landmark infrastructure bill that will help millions of Americans and started to once again make our government work for the people.

But if we lose our majority in 2022, you can bet Mitch McConnell will undo all of the progress that we've made and all of the progress we can make. Americans can't handle another Mitch McConnell Senate – our democracy can't handle it.

We have to win, but it won't be easy: GOP megadonors are gearing up for the fight of their lives and McConnell won't be holding any punches. That's why I had to email you tonight, because right now, I'm falling $2,321 short of my critical mid-month goal to ensure Democrats have the resources they need to win. 

So please, I have to ask friend: Before the deadline at 11:59 p.m. tonight, will you rush a donation of $5 to help me protect our Democratic Senate majority and ensure that Senate control stays out of Mitch McConnell's hands?
