Arlington County and Amazon to Finance the Purchase of the Barcroft Apartments


This week, the County Board committed to a loan of $150 million to preserve 1,300+ affordable homes at Arlington's largest market-rate-affordable apartment community. In addition, Amazon is committing $160 million in a low-rate loan from the Amazon Housing Equity Fund to support the preservation. With these critical investments, the Barcroft Apartments will remain affordable to residents earning up to 60% of the area median income ($77,400 for a family of four) for 99 years without displacing current residents.

AHS Announces Martha Bozman as Interim Executive Director


AHS is pleased to welcome former board secretary Martha Bozman as our interim executive director. Martha stepped into the role this month following Michelle Winters' departure after five years of outstanding service to the organization. AHS is conducting an active search for a new part-time executive director to lead the organization and board of directors during an exciting time.
