As technology transforms the world around us, we need a vision for technology policy that combats inequality, protects users’ privacy, promotes free expression, and supports healthy online civic space. At the Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT), we fight for this vision every day — and you’re in the fight alongside us.

In this past year alone, you have made it possible to:

Fight against bias in AI, protecting the rights of workers, students, tenants, and consumers;

Push for transparency and accountability from social media platforms;

Combat mis- and disinformation that undermines elections and democratic institutions;

Defend end-to-end encryption as a tool for human rights defenders, journalists, and all users to communicate privately and securely;

Help educators, families, and students understand how schools can support students’ learning while respecting student privacy;

Win much-needed clarity at the Supreme Court, safeguarding the continued work of computer security researchers; and

Support a trans-atlantic vision for tech policy coordination in the U.S. and EU, and so much more.

Thank you for the support and partnership that makes CDT’s work possible. And if you can, please help us continue this critical work — donate to CDT this holiday season ([link removed]). Your support helps sustain the work we do.

Together, we are putting civil rights and civil liberties at the center of the digital age. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Alexandra Reeve Givens
