The release of text messages from President Trump’s Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows are making it even more clear that Donald Trump is responsible for inciting the insurrection on January 6th.

Even FOX News hosts were frantically trying to get Trump to do something while his supporters were attacking Congress. Sean Hannity pleaded, “Can he make a statement?... Ask people to leave the Capitol.” Or Laura Ingraham who texted, “Hey Mark, the president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home… this is hurting all of us… he is destroying his legacy.”

And yet hours went by while Trump and his closest allies did nothing to stop the violence.

This is exactly why I fought to convict Trump during his second impeachment trial, and I’m going to continue using my voice to speak out that in America everyone is accountable and there must be justice and accountability.

Not only do these texts show that Trump knew exactly what was happening on January 6th and he did nothing for hours to stop it, but they also expose the FOX News hosts who gave the public a cover up story for Trump over the coming weeks and months and attempted to frame the insurrection as nothing more than a simple “tourist visit.”

These Trump loyalists who put a person over our country, nearly destroyed our democracy, and that’s why it’s so important that we continue standing up and speaking truth to power, so that we can hold those who are responsible accountable and make sure nothing like this happens ever again.
