Tornado Relief
At least 90 people were killed by last Friday night’s tornados, with at least 80 of the deaths in Kentucky. United Methodist Churches were in the path of destruction. Photos of them can be seen at https://twkumc.org/december-tornado-disaster/. United Methodists are also already preparing to be part of the relief effort. You can help now in the following ways:
- Give: Mail a check payable to the Missouri Conference to The Missouri Conference, 3601 Amron Court, Columbia, MO 65202 with Kentucky/Tennessee Tornado Relief in the memo line or give online at www.moumethodist.org/disasterdonate.
- Stay Informed: Missouri Conference Disaster Response Coordinator Scott Burdin provides updated information via the Disaster Response newsletter. Adjust your subscriptions using the “Manage Mailings” link at the bottom of this email or by clicking here and adding “Disaster Response” to your other subscriptions.
- Get Trained: Online Basic ERT Training (8-hour training, all four sessions required for completion) is scheduled for early February. Learn more by clicking here and register by January 20. This is the first step for people to join early response efforts.
