Pressure is mounting on the Biden administration to reverse course on their plan to resume federal student loan payments on February 1 — and Pramila is at the forefront of that fight in Congress. Just look at what she told Teen Vogue:
“[The Progressive Caucus has] been pushing the administration for some time to cancel at least $50,000 in student debt, and the extension of the moratorium is important. But what we really need to do is student debt cancellation. We know it will help the economy. We know it will provide hope to young people across this country and it is the right thing to do so for all of those reasons. And it's something that is universally popular, not just with Democrats, but with independents and Republicans.”
The average student loan borrower saved nearly $400/month during the COVID-19 payment pause. And when student loan payments restart next year, 75% of borrowers say their finances will take a direct hit.
It’s clear: canceling student loan debt is just the right thing to do. If you agree, will you contribute any amount toward our mid-month goal of 300 donations to help Pramila keep fighting for student debt relief? A contribution from you today will send a powerful message to the White House that the time to cancel this burden holding back working people is now:

If the White House’s plan to resume payments proceeds, folks crushed by student loan debt — debt that disproportionately affects women and people of color — will have to start paying again. That will mean picking between paying their loans and putting food on the table.
After the personal and financial setbacks experienced by so many during this pandemic and rising concerns over a new COVID variant, now’s not the time to place more burdens on people.
Democrats control the House, the Senate, and the White House. To lift people up — and into the future — we need to use that power to deliver on a transformative economic agenda. One key component to that agenda is forgiving student debt.
But Pramila needs your support to keep up this grassroots fight against the lobbyists and corporations who are profiting from student loan debt. Contribute $3 toward our mid-month goal of 300 donations and help us push President Biden to cancel student loan debt. He can — and he must.
In solidarity,
