Folks,

You may not know this — but I only have seven fingers.

When I was a kid, I lost three fingers on my left hand grinding meat in my family’s butcher shop. I don’t even remember putting my hand in there — but I can damn sure remember pulling it out.

I even remember my mom tossing me into the back of her blue 1965 Pontiac Bonneville station wagon and high-tailing it to the closest hospital. It was only 13 miles away, so I was lucky, but tack on another 35 and it could’ve been a lot worse.

My accident is part of who I am — it’s a reason I’m in the U.S. Senate today. Because with all the chaos and partisan games in Washington, you deserve somebody who’s going to fight to protect public lands, create good-paying jobs, and, yes, ensure all of our communities have a hospital within driving distance.

In the Senate, I work hard for folks like you — and for communities like mine. But to keep up that work, my team and I rely heavily on contributions to messages just like this one.

So I’m asking: Can you chip in a few dollars ahead of tomorrow’s mid-month fundraising deadline? It’s our very last one before 2021 comes to a close, and your support will make a real difference right now. [[link removed]]

You don’t need 10 fingers to know right from wrong. Whether I’m fighting to improve our infrastructure or preserve our public lands for the next generation, you can count on me to do right by you.

I appreciate anything you can pitch in today to support this grassroots team.

— Jon
