This is just a reminder that our last monthly General Meeting of 2021 will be this Saturday, December 18th at 12PM! Highlights this month:
- As you've probably heard, thanks to the tireless efforts of our members, our Save Our Libraries Coalition partners, librarians, and volunteers from across the city, on Saturday New Orleans voted overwhelmingly to pass the library millage and ensure our libraries will be funded for the next 20 years! When we fight together, we can win! On Saturday we'll be having a debrief with the campaign organizers to discuss the campaign, and what's next.
- In addition, we'll see presentations looking back on our other 2021 campaigns and initiatives, and holding an open discussion what worked well in 2021, what didn't, and where we go from here. Come check it out and weigh in!
The General Meeting is our largest regular gathering of members, and our Chapter's highest decision-making body, so if you can only make one meeting a month, make it this one! Register for the call here.
To ensure all our decisions are being made democratically, our bylaws require a quorum of 10% of membership to be present for the General Meeting to hold votes. If you can't make it this Saturday, please request a proxy by emailing [email protected]! A proxy is a member designated to vote in your place at the meeting- when requesting a proxy, you can either name another member as your proxy, or if you don't have anybody in mind, just let us know and we can match you with someone!
Solidarity,
New Orleans DSA Local Council
