For 15 years, AMP has been building its base, building its organizing capacity, and most importantly, building our community’s power. And this year, we saw our collective efforts come to fruition. The Palestinian narrative and cause have entered the mainstream in full force. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, AMP came into 2021 fully equipped with a staff and mission. Our vision from the outset, to combine our grassroots depth with strong and strategic political work in the halls of power, drove our work this year. AMP has taken the lead at every stage at the grassroots level, on the policy front and on social and traditional media. When the Israeli government tried to forcefully displace the families of Sheikh Jarrah and Al Bustan in April - we were there. When Masjid Al Aqsa was being desecrated in broad daylight during the holy month of Ramadan - we were there. When Israel launched its barbaric attack on Gaza - we were there. We’ve led in discussions with members of Congress who stood with Palestinian rights, we’ve led on grassroots campaigns to boycott Israel, and we’ve led in bringing Palestinians to the table at America’s largest Palestine advocacy events, festivals, and conferences. Because of your support, AMP was able to crack the dam of US support for Israel this year. Let’s make 2022 the year that the dam finally breaks. |
