John,
Today, December 15th, is the final Child Tax Credit payment of the year for tens of millions of families.
These monthly payments of between $250 to $300 per child have provided a critical boost to families living paycheck to paycheck―allowing them to afford school supplies, summer camps for their kids, or to simply afford basic essentials like rent, winter coats, and food.
If the Senate fails to pass the Build Back Better Act by the end of this year, families may not receive their monthly CTC payments in January, plunging nearly 10 million children back into poverty.
John, will you join thousands of activists from across the country in demanding the Senate act immediately? Click here to write to your senators and demand they pass the Build Back Better Act before the Senate leaves town on their holiday recess.
TAKE ACTION
Senator Joe Manchin continues to signal that a vote is unlikely this year. We can’t let up. Senators need to hear from us today!
Thank you for all that you do to fight for millions of children and families in need.

Tell the Senate:
The expansion of the Child Tax Credit passed this past spring is helping more than 60 million children in families, and it is on track to cut childhood poverty nearly in half. The last monthly payment takes place on December 15th. If no more action is taken, these monthly payments will be cut off in the New Year. Pass the Build Back Better Act immediately so families aren’t cut off from this critical monthly support.

John,
One of the most substantial accomplishments of President Biden's first year in office is this: families of over 60 million children are receiving monthly Child Tax Credit (CTC) payments worth between $250 to $300 per child. That is a direct result of legislation passed by Democrats last spring and signed into law by President Biden.
Those funds are making a tremendous difference in the lives of tens of millions of American families, cutting childhood poverty nearly in half. In order to continue those monthly payments beyond this month, we need the Senate to act!
Join CHN and our national partners today to demand the Senate pass the Build Back Better Act now so essential Child Tax Credits are not cut off.
TAKE ACTION
Ending these monthly payments couldn’t come at a worse time—immediately after the holidays and just as winter heating bills are kicking in for much of the country.
If no action is taken, the Child Tax Credit will be slashed—and eliminated for the very poorest families. And once again, families won’t receive any funds until months later after they file their annual tax returns.
Send a message directly to your U.S. senators today and demand they pass the Build Back Better Act this year so families aren’t cut off from monthly CTC payments starting in January.
The Build Back Better Act will keep these enhanced payments going for an additional year—funded by finally making the wealthy and corporations pay a fairer share of taxes. If the Senate fails to act, nearly 10 million children could fall back into poverty or become more deeply poor.
Thank you for all you do to demand accountability from our political leaders and to strengthen our democracy to fight for the needs of working families, the vulnerable, the sick and the poor.
