John, Roe v. Wade is hanging by a thread.
Earlier this month the Supreme Court heard arguments on a Mississippi law that could overturn Roe for good. Then the Court essentially upheld forced pregnancy by refusing to block Texas’ abortion ban, which bans abortion before many even know they are pregnant.
We cannot let dangerous laws like this stand and as a doctor, I can tell you that every day they do is another day pregnant people cannot access the health care they need.
We need to codify Roe v. Wade at the federal level immediately to protect abortion access. The warning signs are clear, Roe is in serious jeopardy and it looks like we cannot count on the Supreme Court to uphold nearly 50 years of precedence.
That’s why I’m asking ahead of our big mid-month deadline tonight: Can you chip in any amount to make sure I can fight in the U.S. Senate to protect and expand abortion rights?

In my life, I’ve spent countless hours in hospitals with patients. And let me tell you, as a doctor, when you are sitting at the bedside with someone as they are making difficult decisions the last thing that’s needed is a politician in that room. These decisions belong between an individual and their doctor, period.
But state legislatures ramming through abortion restriction after abortion restriction have made it clear: We are in the middle of an all-out assault on abortion rights and if the Supreme Court next strikes down Roe v. Wade, the consequences will be horrific.
I am not being hyperbolic when I say we should be ringing every alarm bell and we need to act to codify Roe as soon as possible.
If elected, I would be the first woman physician elected to the U.S. Senate ever and I would fight from day one in the U.S. Senate to enshrine abortion rights into law. First, I need your help to get there. Before midnight, please add a donation of any amount you can to support our campaign and help us fight for abortion rights.
Thank you,
Val
