New Survey: Lyndy Wells Leads Longwell
Among Likely Republican Voters
A new survey released today shows Lyndy Wells leading Jeff Longwell among likely Republican voters in the race for Wichita mayor. Wells leads with 16.5% of support, Longwell at 11.2% and Whipple at 3.5%. 68.8% said they were undecided.
The sample group included 606 Republicans who voted in the 2015 primary and general election. Democrats were not included in the survey group. The survey was conducted Thursday October 31st and Friday November 1st.
This data shows that Wichita Republicans are abandoning Jeff Longwell and turning to Lyndy Wells to be their next mayor of Wichita. Longwell’s numbers have continued to plummet as a series of news headlines revealed Longwell guided city contracts to his friends, failed to be transparent in the development of the new baseball stadium and was involved in other shadowy backroom deals.
After being rejected by 68% of primary voters in August, polling data continues to show support for Jeff Longwell dropping. He is now down to 11.2% support from likely Republican voters. Instead, Wichitans have rallied to Lyndy Wells in tomorrow’s election.
Polls are open today from 8:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at the Sedgwick County Courthouse. Tomorrow, November 5th is Election Day. Polls are open tomorrow at assigned polling places tomorrow from 6 A.M. to & 7 P.M.
