Dear People For Supporter, In 2021, I entered my 100th year as a human being and an American. I feel like the luckiest guy alive. I have a loving family, meaningful work, and a network of friends and colleagues like you – my People For family – who share my desire to bend the arc of the moral universe toward justice. A year ago, I was looking forward to having a president who is not a daily insult to dignity and decency. I was proud that together we helped make that happen. I still feel that way, and I hope you do, too. There is much to celebrate, including the confirmation of the most personally and professionally diverse group of federal judges in our history – judges committed to the “for all” part of “liberty and justice for all.” Progress can feel painfully slow on issues we care about. And sometimes we even see hard-won progress being rolled back. On my 99th birthday, the Washington Post ran an op-ed that I wrote expressing my bewilderment that some politicians are still trying to make it harder for people to vote. I’m hoping that by my 100th birthday we will have renewed a strong federal commitment to voting rights. You can help make that happen, and make an old man happy, by making a generous year-end gift to People For the American Way. All early renewal donations 3X-MATCHED! One advantage to being around for so long is that I can take a long view. I have experienced professional failures and triumphs, personal sorrows and so many joys. One consistent source of satisfaction and gratitude for the past 40 years has been working with People For the American Way to give voice to our highest ideals and fondest wishes for our country – and to act with others to make them real. Thank you for joining me on the journey! Love, – Norman
