A new home, a new name, but the continuation of vitally important work.

As you know by now, Children’s Advocates for Change opened its doors this year for business. Some of the board member and staff names may be familiar to those of you previously acquainted with Voices for Illinois Children. We’re still in the business of seeking those changes that improve the well-being of children across the state of Illinois and across the country. Whether it is housing, health care, education, or safety within a child’s home or in that child’s community, we seek the resources for our children and the policy changes that enable them to lead fulfilling lives.

Every child deserves every opportunity and every resource life has to offer. Yet, every child doesn’t always have those chances. Sometimes, it is discrimination that stands in the way. Sometimes, it is indifference. Our charge at Children’s Advocates for Change is to break down those barriers facing our children, document their needs, and advocate for the resources they need – powerfully advocate to move policymakers and elected officials to act.
