I'm Senator Will Smith. I’ve long been an advocate for the change Maryland needs. Today I’m announcing my endorsement for my friend and fellow veteran, Anthony Brown to be Maryland's next Attorney General.

Anthony has dedicated himself to public service and justice throughout his career. Whether as a young lieutenant in the Army, a JAG officer charged with upholding the Uniform Code of Military Justice, a state legislator serving as the Vice-Chair of the Judiciary Committee, Lt. Governor of our great state, or as a United States Congressman - Anthony has led with integrity, fairness and an eye toward meaningful change for those he serves.

Our state and country face an inflection point when it comes to equal justice. For too long we’ve lived with a system that disadvantages the underserved in our communities. For Black and brown Marylanders this has resulted in families separated, diminished opportunity, and lives lost. We’ve made progress toward true justice and accountability in law enforcement, but we still have a long road ahead. As Maryland’s next Attorney General, Anthony would be a historic champion for this progress and a partner in our efforts to build a better, more just state.
