A CBS News poll in October showed

that only 10 percent of the population said they knew "a lot of the
specifics" of President Biden's Build Back Better bill.

To me, that says that we need to get the other 90 percent of the country
reading The American Prospect, because we've been focused on the
specifics of the legislation for months.

We've written over 85 articles and tens of thousands of words about
what's in this long-awaited public investment package, and how it will
affect you. We created an entire section on our website called Building
Back America
to hold them all.

If everyone read the Prospect, the debate over the Biden agenda would be
much different, based on facts and information and not political spin
and personality. You'd know more about whether we're devoting enough
funding to fighting the next pandemic, or whether we can actually find
all the lead water pipes President Biden wants to remove, than whatever
Joe Manchin has to say.

That's part of the mission we have here at the Prospect: explaining
the structures of power in Washington, what's being done with that
power, and how it could be wielded to make progress for everyone.

And it's a never-ending project. Once Build Back Better passes,
we'll be reporting on how it's being implemented; whether ordinary
people can access its benefits, whether lobbyists are hampering its
impact. We'll be reporting on the effort to get President Biden to
supplement this agenda with executive actions in other areas, like
taming Wall Street, fighting the climate crisis, and canceling student
debt.

And as always, we'll be focusing on concentrated corporate power: how
it's affected low-wage workers, the supply chain mess, and much more.

It's been my honor to lead the Prospect editorial team over the past
