Dear
Friend --
You might have already
heard, but we had an incredible week for the campaign last week with
several successful results from the incredible work of ICAN partners
and campaigners worldwide.
-
Mongolia
joined the TPNW, becoming the 57th state party of the
treaty.
- Three major US cities, Boston, New
York City and Minneapolis joined the ICAN
Cities Appeal and declared their support for the TPNW. New York even
decided to start divesting
the city's public pension fund from nuclear weapons
companies.
- A major Australian
superannuation fund and the first Finnish
pension fund divested from nuclear weapons producing
companies and the Financial
Times even wrote a whole story about how weapons
companies are starting to be impacted by this growing pressure from
investors.
All of these developments are
building momentum towards the first meeting of states parties in
Vienna next year and we need your help to make this
meeting a huge milestone for our movement.
We are halfway through our end of
the year fundraising campaign and so far we've
raised $20,909.59 putting us just over half of
our $40,000 target.
iIf you have not done
so yet, would you please consider pitching in to help us reach our
goal before the end of the year?
We could not have achieved these
successes without the contributions from individuals like you, who
help us campaign flexibly and counter the enormous pressure building
up against the Treaty by the nuclear-armed states and their allies.
And until March next year, we will need to put our all into making the
first MSP a resounding, inclusive success. You
can make a donation here to help us reach our goal.
We are so grateful for all your
support as we push for a world free of nuclear weapons.
Kind
regards,
Celine Nahory Operations
