Dear John, Every 30 seconds, another child is killed by abortion. That means in the time you read this email, another 10 children will be aborted. It’s a tragic statistic. And even more tragic is the fact that so many moms choose abortion not because they want to, but because they feel like abortion is their only option. In fact, of the moms who come to Human Coalition seeking an abortion, 76% say they would “prefer to parent” if their circumstances were different. It’s the ultimate example of Jesus’ command to “love your neighbor as yourself.” One example of your impact in action is “Nicole.” When Nicole first contacted Human Coalition, hope seemed so far away. She was already raising a nine-year-old. Her family lived across the country. And the father of the baby was very unsure if he wanted to raise a child. She felt alone. She felt desperate. She felt like she had no other choice but to have an abortion. So, Nicole went online to schedule an abortion appointment. As she was searching, she came across the number for Human Coalition. When she dialed the number, she was met with a compassionate call agent who scheduled her for an appointment at one of Human Coalition’s nearby Women’s Care Clinics. When Nicole arrived at the women’s clinic, she was still determined to have an abortion. She didn’t believe anyone could truly help her overcome her challenges. She just wanted to get it over with. However, over the course of the appointment, the nurse told her about the Continuum of Care program. She told Nicole that through the program, she could receive help in finding employment, meeting material needs, and anything else she needed to build a stable life. Nicole left the women’s clinic that day feeling more confident in her ability to overcome the challenges in her life. She realized that there would be a support system there to help her. And several weeks later, she chose LIFE for her baby boy. After choosing life, Nicole participated in a parenting class and employment program through Continuum of Care. She was soon able to find a job – which then empowered her to enroll in school. A local church also stepped up to meet her material needs by hosting a baby shower. Nicole and her daughter, "Lauren." Today, Nicole is eagerly awaiting the birth of her baby boy, who will be named “Michael,” and is so glad that she chose to give him life. Isn’t this story incredible? Nicole was on the brink of making an irreversible decision. But thanks to partners like you, she was reached with the love of Christ. And her life has been changed forever.
