Until every veteran has an ID...
Dear Friends,
While we wish it weren't necessary, we're so excited about our #FreeIDsForVets campaign because of its potential to positively impact tens of thousands of lives. Lives like Adam's.

Adam is a homeless veteran with a service-connected disability. When he was referred to our Spread The Vote colleagues, he hadn't had a state ID for 4 years. He was using his VA health card as his ID until it was stolen; he didn't have his birth certificate or his military discharge papers. Luckily, Adam had a case manager who made the referral as he's in recovery, learning how to better function and cope with his PTSD so he can stay clean.
Adam's ID ended up costing $71. On top of everything else, veterans shouldn't have to worry about how they're going to pay for an ID.
