The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance released a report revealing that the restrictive voting laws in Republican states “disproportionately affect minorities in a negative way.”

This recent warning comes on the heels of a statement by nearly 150 democracy scholars who warned about the uptick in political partisanship that has undermined what should be a non-partisan electoral administration process -- and urged Congress to take action because “midnight is approaching.”
