Team,

As the House moves forward with an impeachment inquiry, I want to be clear about something.

This is not about politics. This is about patriotism, and this is a sad moment for our nation.

We need to move swiftly and continue to gather the facts. I'm proud of House Democrats for putting partisan politics aside and setting up a process that builds consensus by ensuring that the evidence is laid bare for the American people.

Republicans have already been trying to impede the process, and the White House has refused to comply with subpoenas and records requests.

Add your name if you agree that the impeachment process should proceed without any partisan interference.

At the end of the day, my Senate colleagues and I will serve as jurors, weighing the evidence for and against the president. Trump may have betrayed his oath of office, but we will honor ours.

We have to do everything we can to protect the integrity of this impeachment inquiry. If we don't, then I fear this process will fall short and rip our country even further apart -- leaving us more divided than we already are.

If you share my belief that this process should continue without obstruction from the president's allies in Congress, add your name here.

I believe that we must emerge from this sobering moment in our history as a stronger, more united country.

Sincerely,
Cory
