Our goal with the MassDems Wire is to give you the tools to boost Democrats and take on Governor Baker and his Republican allies. Use this information on social media, as the basis for a letter to the editor of your local paper, in emails to your personal network, or in conversation with your friends and neighbors.
Dear Activist,

Last week, Charlie Baker and Karyn Polito announced they won’t seek reelection in 2022. And if there’s one thing that tells us, it’s that Team Trump’s takeover of the Massachusetts Republican Party is complete.

With Baker pushed out of his own party’s primary, the MassGOP’s leading candidate is Geoff Diehl, former chair of Trump’s Massachusetts campaign. And he’s already accepted Trump’s “complete and total endorsement.”

Here are three things you need to know about Trump loyalist and the MassGOP’s handpicked candidate for Governor, Geoff Diehl:
1. Geoff Diehl was the first elected Republican to endorse Donald Trump in 2016, so Trump tapped him to chair his Massachusetts campaign.

2. Diehl peddled Trump propaganda to overturn the 2020 election, the same Big Lie that launched the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th.

3. Diehl’s already pledged to follow Trump’s lead and bring his hateful agenda to Massachusetts--policies that Diehl tried and failed to implement as a state legislator.

Baker and Polito’s decision to take their name out of the running in 2022 means our Democratic candidate could go head to head with Geoff Diehl and the MassGOP’s mob of Trump fanatics next November. But no matter who’s on the ballot, we need your help to expand our outreach, ramp up our training programs, and raise the funds to take back the Corner Office.

If you haven’t heard of Blueprint to ‘22 yet, it’s our initiative to engage local activists through service and strengthen our volunteer networks ahead of the 2022 election. It’s our blueprint for developing teams of skilled Democratic campaigners and community leaders in every community across the Commonwealth.
