Friend,
It’s unbelievable that if a parent tests positive even once, yes, ONCE for marijuana, they can lose custody of their children.
As Kassandra says in her email below: The drug war has seeped into every aspect of our lives.
Drug Policy Alliance members are helping push this unjust drug war out of our lives and with significant victories. In arguably the biggest blow to the drug war to date, Oregon is the first state in the nation to decriminalize all drugs and invest in health services. A total of 19 states and Washington, D.C. have legalized adult use marijuana and 35 states have legalized medical marijuana. New York City opened the first ever overdose prevention centers in the U.S., a lifesaving win that comes after years of hard-fought advocacy led by DPA and our allies.
We've made huge progress, but we must fight even harder to undo all the damage done by this brutal five-decade-long drug war. Enough is enough! Today, we urgently need you to join us to keep pushing drug policy reform forward in 2022. A generous donor will match all gifts, up to $150,000, but only through December 31st.

Friend, triple your impact to end the harmful drug war and donate now.
Sincerely,
Joe Salas

P.S. Every $1 counts towards our match goal and will multiply 3X.

The drug war has seeped into every aspect of our lives. A simple possession charge, even just suspected possession, can create damaging, life-long barriers for you. It can jeopardize your access to basic human needs like housing, jobs, and education.
Recent data confirms that drugs remain the leading cause of arrest in the United States, with possession topping the list for most arrested offense. And due to targeted policing and enforcement, Black, Latinx, and Indigenous people continue to make up a disproportionate share of the unjust arrests. We must prioritize decriminalizing drugs and investing in health-centered approaches to problematic drug use.
The federal Drug Policy Reform Act would do just that. And we need you to get it passed.
Friend, join the fight with TRIPLE the impact today. We need you to help push this important legislation through Congress. Please don’t delay!

Sincerely,
Kassandra Frederique

P.S. There are still more than 1 million arrests for simple possession each year. We can’t wait. Donate now: [link removed]
