Hello Team,

Our mid-month deadline is coming up tomorrow, and we’re falling a little short of our fundraising goal. We need your support to close the gap. Here’s why:

Just recently, Josh helped secure a $40 million settlement against Vyera Pharmaceuticals and its parent company Phoenixus. The agreement will end the illegal and monopolistic behavior of Vyera and one of its former CEOs, Kevin Mulleady.

Vyera and Mulleady, along with “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli, knew what they were doing when they illegally hiked medical prices for their own profit. They put people’s lives at risk by increasing overnight the price of the potentially life-saving medicine more than 4,000 percent — and they chose to line their own pockets anyway.

Under the terms of the settlement, Vyera and Phoenixus will pay up to $40 million – representing the profits from the companies’ wrongful conduct. Mulleady will be banned from working in the pharmaceutical industry for seven years. And Josh will continue to pursue his lawsuit against Pharma Bro Shkreli, the former Vyera CEO who was the architect of this illegal scheme.

Folks, Josh is not afraid to take action against drug companies and executives who put profits over people. It’s just the latest example of his work to put people first and improve North Carolinians’ day-to-day lives.

Now it’s up to us to let Josh know that this team will stand behind him and show up for him. That’s why we’re counting on a wave of support to help us hit our fundraising goal, so Josh can continue to fight for our shared values.

Can we count on you to chip on $10 or more today before our mid-month deadline tomorrow at midnight? Every contribution makes a difference.
