What’s up next for the Cori Bush 2020 Campaign?
Hey, Cori Bush team! In case you haven't heard, we crushed our October fundraising goals, and we couldn't have done it without you! Your participation in canvassing events, local government meetings, and calling campaigns is what has helped us continue to spread the word about Cori's campaign and bring in new volunteers and donors. Now that we are heading into holiday season, it can be tricky to keep up the momentum, but we know our volunteers have what it takes to help this campaign excel!
Don't forget to mark your calendars for this month's Prison Reform Town Hall, from 6-8:30pm on Wednesday, November 20th at campaign headquarters.
Do you have some time to help the campaign this week? Check out our upcoming events and ongoing needs:
Campaign Roles:
Volunteer Coordinator - We are looking for a motivated volunteer to help manage volunteer involvement. The volunteer coordinator will work closely with the events team to inform volunteers of upcoming opportunities and to ensure each event is adequately staffed with passionate representatives of the Cori Bush Campaign. If you are interested please contact [email protected].
Town Hall/Listening Tour Committee - We are looking for five volunteers to assemble a Town Hall/Listening Tour Committee. This committee will work with the events team to nail down the dates, topics, and venues for monthly Town Hall/Listening Tour community meetings. If you are interested, please contact [email protected].
This Week's Events:
Tuesday, November 5th
Pass Out Campaign Literature at the Polls - The best time to talk to voters is when they're already civically engaged and leaving the polls from an election. Wednesday, November 6th
Volunteers Calling Volunteers - 5-8pm: We need enthusiastic volunteers to meet at campaign headquarters (75 N Oaks Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63121) to make calls to those who have indicated they’d like to volunteer with the campaign. Show up when you can and stay as long as you’d like! Training and materials will be provided. Sign up here.
Saturday, November 9th
Saturday Canvass - 10am-1pm: Come out and canvass with us—and bring a friend or two! We’ll start with a 15 minute training at campaign headquarters, then pair up and go knock on some doors. Come hydrated, with a charged phone and comfortable walking shoes, and the rest will be provided by the campaign. Sign up here.
Sunday, November 10th
Sunday Canvass in University City - 1-4pm: We have another canvass on Sunday afternoon! Meet at 7210 Olive Blvd, University City, MO 63130 for a quick training, and then head out to spread the Team Cori message across the district. Sign up here.

Wednesday, November 20th
Prison Reform Town Hall - 6-8:30pm: The United States is the world’s leader in incarceration. There are 2.2 million people in the nation’s prisons and jails—a 500% increase over the last 40 years. In Missouri alone there are 52,000 people behind bars. We need prison reform now. Join us for a conversation to discuss these statistics, hear from those who are formerly incarcerated and learn their truth, and join Cori Bush and local activists and leaders in the prison reform movement to discuss solutions. Light refreshments will be provided. RSVP here.
Finally, please join our Facebook group to keep up to date on volunteer opportunities. And you can view our complete calendar of events here
