One year ago, the first COVID-19 vaccine became available to the public.

Since then, millions of Americans, including me, have stepped up to do their part and get vaccinated, saving countless lives in the process.

Though the pandemic continues, so many of your fellow Americans are doing their part to stop the spread each day -- and it's working. Vaccinated Americans are far less likely to spread the virus or to need hospitalization.

The only way we can beat this pandemic is if more of us do our part. That's why I'm hoping you'll ask a friend or family member to get vaccinated today.

Everyone five years of age and older is eligible to receive their vaccine. It's safe and effective, it's free, it's patriotic, and it's the right thing to do.
