The Future of Roe v. Wade ([link removed][UNIQID])
(Americans United for Life) Regardless of what happens with Roe, state legislatures will continue to play a critical role in protecting pregnant women and their unborn children. The pro-life movement needs to be whole-heartedly on the side of women by supporting direct services to women and by helping women understand the long-term medical risks of abortion. This is necessary to help women choose alternatives and necessary to rebut the Supreme Court’s rationale for the abortion right — that women rely on abortion for equal opportunity in America.

Bobby Schindler on Terri Schiavo and advocacy for patients and families confronting denial of basic care ([link removed][UNIQID])
(Life, Liberty, and Law) Bobby Schindler, President of the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network, Senior Fellow at Americans United for Life, and Associate Scholar at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, fought alongside his family for the life of Terri Schiavo, his sister, for more than a decade. Today, the name "Terri Schiavo" is seared into the national memory as a face of both the right-to-life and right-to-die movements, but many are now too young to remember her story. Bobby joins Tom Shakely and Noah Brandt to reflect on the Terri's witness to the human right to life, and share his experiences over the course of 15 years as an advocate for patients and families confronting denial of basic care and how we can foster a more life-affirming approach to caring for our most vulnerable brothers and sisters.

WMA Declaration on Euthanasia and Physician-Assisted Suicide ([link removed][UNIQID])
(World Medical Association) The WMA reiterates its strong commitment to the principles of medical ethics and that utmost respect has to be maintained for human life. Therefore, the WMA is firmly opposed to euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide.

These 12 Men’s Abortion Stories Illustrate How Normalizing Evil Creates Monsters ([link removed][UNIQID])
(The Federalist) Most people know a fetus is a human life, and 96 percent of biologists realize this as factual. That means the only recourse is to become numb to the reality that abortion ends a human life. Hence the “Shout Your Abortion” movement.

Nature: Bioethics Is Obsolete ([link removed][UNIQID])
(National Review) Bioethics still exerts tremendous influence in the public policy of healthcare. So, we are stuck with the worst of both worlds. We stand helpless before a biotechnology sector creating inventions of almost limitless power beyond substantial ethical or legal control — as our medical system is dominated by so-called “experts” who deny the sanctity and intrinsic dignity of human life.

Pro-life leaders ask HHS to separate abortion payments in insurance plans ([link removed][UNIQID])
(Catholic News Service) The letter asked HHS to further these efforts by implementing a rule removing the ability for insurance companies to create “hidden abortion surcharges,” through which “enrollees...are unknowingly paying into plans that subsidize elective abortion.”

New York Times Article Misleads on Delaware’s Abortion-Rate Decline ([link removed][UNIQID])
(National Review) One key factor in the long-term reduction of that abortion rate has been the durable increase in the percentage of unintended pregnancies carried to term since the early 1980s. This fact has been all but ignored by most media outlets, likely because this statistic reveals that pro-life efforts to change hearts and minds, assist pregnant women, and pass protective laws have been effective. Last week’s Times piece is another example of how mainstream writers prefer to applaud contraception rather than provide balanced information about the many factors that contribute to abortion-rate declines in many states and across the country.
