I’m a Navy veteran.
10 years ago, Kevin McCarthy promised he’d do everything he could to help veterans like me by getting the funding to build a new VA clinic.
10 years later, veterans like myself still have to travel over two hours to the nearest VA hospital if the one clinic close by — old and in drastic need of an upgrade — is full.
McCarthy can talk all the big game he wants about caring, listening, and working to make sure that veterans are supported. But veterans like myself? We know the truth.
When I’m in Congress, I’ll fight for a VA hospital — not just a clinic — and I’ll never turn my back on those who have served. If you have a moment, watch this video where I talk about why veterans in CA-23 deserve better. Then, chip in $5 or $10 bucks to help make history by helping us hit our $100,000 year end goal and elect real leadership for the Central Valley.
I never thought I would be a politician.
But, as a veteran, I watched the horrific insurrection attempt on January 6th and I thought it might actually turn a Republican like McCarthy around.
Instead, he worked as hard as he could to cover up the testimony of that day, and for months he has refused to meet with the U.S. Capitol Police officers — many of them veterans themselves. He is trying to cover it all up.
McCarthy has no respect for veterans. He only uses us to score political points when it’s convenient. When it won’t benefit him, it’s of no interest to him.
That’s not how being in Congress should work. I’m running to fight for veterans of CA-23 — and I'm proud to have the endorsement of VoteVets, an organization that helps veterans like me run for office. Unlike Kevin McCarthy, I’m not looking to score points, I’m just looking to serve the community I love.
Help make that a reality by chipping in whatever you can so we can hit our critical year end goal and defeat McCarthy once and for all.
Let's get this done,
Bruno
