I’m about to ask you to chip in $5 to my mid-month fundraising goal -- but first, let me explain why:

I’m a top target of national Republicans. I have several Republican challengers, which may soon include former Congressman Scott Taylor. The GOP is already running attack ads against me, redistricting could make VA-02 more competitive than it already is, and Glenn Youngkin’s victory signals that more folks may be leaning red than we previously thought. There’s a lot stacked against me, and I need resources to fight back.

November and December are two of the worst months for online fundraising. During the holidays, people rightfully step away from their screens, but that also means they’re checking their emails less frequently. Fewer emails opened = fewer contributions.

We’re just two weeks away from the biggest FEC deadline of the year. What we raise will set the tone for 2022. And, in order to hit our end-of-quarter goal, we must hit our mid-month goal.

So, John, what do you say? Can I count on you to chip in just $5 today to help me reach my mid-month goal and hold my seat?
