Carter Center supporters have changed the lives of millions of people who are no longer at risk for six preventable diseases — Guinea worm, river blindness, trachoma, schistosomiasis, lymphatic filariasis, and malaria. We have nearly eradicated Guinea worm disease and are making steady progress on the others using health education and simple, low-cost methods.
And people like this little girl are free from disease and can get an education, grow up healthy, produce more food, earn a living, care for their children, participate in elections, advocate for themselves and their community, and work for peace. |
