Couple updates:

A couple people have asked for an option to still receive our emails, but fewer per week. The new email software we’re using allows that, and I wanted to let you know we’re working on that.

There’s a lot going on in the news right now, but I wanted to highlight one item in particular: a short clip that went viral online showing teachers scrambling for cash. Literally.

During a break in a hockey game in South Dakota this past Saturday, a small group of teachers stood in a circle in the middle of the ice rink while someone dumped 5,000 one-dollar bills in front of them. The cash was “up for grabs” for the teachers to use in their classrooms.

This is outrageous.

Educators shouldn’t have to scramble for cash in front of an entire stadium of people just so they can afford classroom supplies. And they also shouldn’t need second and third jobs just to survive.

Do we ever see police officers scrambling for cash so they can afford their grenade launchers? No, of course not. (And unlike grenade launchers, classroom supplies are actually a necessity.)

Our priorities are totally out of balance, and I’m running for Congress to change that. We need to fund education, housing, jobs, expanding Social Security, and so much more. Can you chip in just $1 now to help me win, so I can fight for educators, workers, and seniors in Congress? Thank you!

In the richest country on Earth, no one should be hungry, homeless, without healthcare, or in poverty. The planet shouldn’t be burning while politicians take money from Chevron and billionaires take vanity trips to space. Educators shouldn't have to scramble for cash.
