Dear Friend,
The Trump administration has officially begun denying funds to Planned
Parenthood and other family planning clinics that refer patients for
abortion services.
Health care access for 4 million low-income patients is in immediate
danger. Planned Parenthood is relying on emergency funds. States are
scrambling to appropriate funds to cover the gap and restore access to
such care as cancer screenings, STI tests, and birth control.(1)
Congress has the power to override Trump's family planning gag rule -- and
we're ramping up the pressure on Republicans who face tough reelection
races in 2020 to demand that they stop Trump's attack on Planned
Parenthood.

Parenthood and stop Trump's family planning gag rule?
The government appropriates more than $250 million in Title X funds to
help low-income people access family planning services.
But under Trump’s gag rule, clinics that provide abortion care in the same
building or even provide referrals for abortion care are cut out.(2)
That means Planned Parenthood, including 120 clinics in California, are
out. Planned Parenthood serves about 40% of the people who receive Title X
care, and other clinics are suffering as well.(3)
California's attorney general has joined others in suing the Trump
administration to get the gag rule overturned, and the cases are still
winding through the courts.(4) But the Trump administration isn't waiting
to see how the courts rule -- it is freezing the funding now.
Congress can overrule Trump's attack on reproductive rights, and now that
the gag rule is in the spotlight, we need to take the opportunity to push
every California Republican to stand with Planned Parenthood. Will you
donate $5 to help fight back?
