John This past weekend America's heartland was hit with a series of tornadoes unlike anything we have ever seen before. It seems like every couple of months a new "once-in-a-generation" meteorological event takes place that causes irreparable harm. At some point we have to accept that this is the new normal and begin to address the core issue, the climate crisis! Our planet has been abused for decades now, and for the most part our government has ignored it. I will give you an example: Companies are supposedly restricted as to how much carbon emissions they're allowed to put out, but did you know they are allowed to just buy another company's emissions credit, and if they do that, they can bypass the requirements? Billionaire union-buster Elon Musk is making a fortune off this policy. Since he owns Tesla, an all-electric car company, he sells the rights to Tesla's unused carbon credits to other, dirtier car companies -- enabling them to keep on polluting -- and laughs all the way to the bank. In fact, Tesla made more money off of selling carbon credits to polluters this year than it did selling cars! And yet, Time magazine just named Elon Musk "Person of the Year." What a crock! Folks, the system is broken, it has been for a long time, and now we are seeing the consequences of human greed unfold in front of our eyes in real time. Kentucky is the state that was hit the hardest, and their own Senator Moscow Mitch is the one that is behind America's war against the planet. Moscow Mitch is for sale and has been for what seems like 100 years. This man is the most conniving snake in the history of the Senate, he answers only to the Koch brothers and their billionaire allies and in return he gifts them any and every policy their wallets desire. My critics will accuse me of politicizing a tragedy. You're damn right I am! Over 100 people have already died, and do you think the storms are over? Tornadoes like this don't pop up in December, people, wake up! We did this! We have one of two choices: We either start taking this seriously and rethink how we do things as a society in regards to fossil fuels and carbon emissions, or we are all destined to rely on Elon Musk's strategy and move to Mars.
