Last month, Gov. Mike DeWine signed into law new, gerrymandered Ohio maps that give the GOP a massive advantage in coming congressional elections.

The GOP’s congressional map doesn’t reflect the will of Ohio voters, who have repeatedly voted to draw fair, nonpartisan maps. And now Republicans' statehouse map is being challenged all the way to the Ohio Supreme Court.

Republican politicians are weaponizing redistricting to choose their voters, rather than the other way around -- in Ohio, and across the country. We can’t let them get away with weakening voters’ voices in our democracy.

It’s time to end the filibuster and protect voting rights.

Since the beginning of the year, 19 states have enacted 33 laws that make it harder to vote and also undermine local, nonpartisan control of elections by allowing lawmmakers to overturn the will of the voters. And hundreds more have been introduced in nearly every state in the country -- including Ohio.

Democrats are fighting to protect voting rights and make sure everyone has a voice in our democracy, but Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are using the filibuster to block voting rights legislation.

If the Senate filibuster is standing in the way of protecting voting rights and the integrity of our elections, then it’s time to end the filibuster.
