Food & Water Action is fighting to ban factory farms. And you can help. This month, your donation will be matched! For every $1 you give, a generous group of donors will unlock $2.
Factory farms pollute our land, air and drinking water. They devastate rural communities and confine billions of animals in inhumane, cruel and unsanitary conditions.
In many parts of the country, factory farms are concentrated in communities of color and low-resource areas, where they sicken people nearby. For decades, the Environmental Protection Agency and state governments have looked the other way when it comes to these huge, industrial-scale factory farms.
That’s why Food & Water Action is fighting to move us to a more just and sustainable food system, centered on diversified farms with animals on pasture — not in confinement. Will you join us to help end the dominance of giant polluting industrial farms?
Our corporate-controlled factory farm food system extorts consumers and robs them of real choices, locks farmers into abusive contracts and high debt, and exploits workers. The death grip these companies have on our food system means farmers have no choice about how to grow or sell products, or how animals are raised.
And now the industry is doubling down by promoting a slew of false climate solutions, like "biogas," that would only entrench its corporate power and line its pockets at the expense of people and the environment. And these false solutions won't curb climate change.
The truth is, we can feed everyone and still be good stewards of the land, air, and water by transitioning to small and medium-sized independent farms — but not if mega-corporations are allowed to rig the system. We need to take back our power and break Big Ag’s stranglehold — to build our food and farm systems so they work for everyone.
