LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. — On Monday, Laguna Niguel Mayor Elaine Gennawey endorsed Brian Maryott and released the following statement:
"In this time of economic turmoil, CA49 needs a representative who will fight for taxpayers, not special interest groups. While families try to make ends meet, those in D.C continue to increase taxes on the middle class. Brian's financial expertise and background in business will help to change the current course of spending and most importantly advocate for the needs of our community."
Brian Maryott responded, "We are honored to have Mayor Gennawey's support. She has done a terrific job for her city and leads with common sense and humility. Thank you for being part of Team Maryott!"
Elaine was born in Brooklyn, New York, raised in Reseda, California, and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge. Presently, Elaine is a LPL Financial Advisor and Partner with Stratos Wealth Partners, Ltd, a financial planning and investment management firm. Elaine was elected to Laguna Niguel's city council in 2014. In 2018, Elaine served as the Mayor of Laguna Niguel and in December 2020 served as the Mayor Pro Tem in Laguna Niguel. In November 2021, Elaine was selected by the City Council to serve as Mayor.
