Dear Friend,
Every year, we receive holiday letters from friends and family. This year, I thought I would share mine with all of you, touching on some personal experiences and connecting it to the work of our office.

Like all holiday letters, let me start with our kids, including our newest arrival, Zeke, our pandemic puppy.
As a family, we took Zeke (who LOVES going in the car) all across Colorado this year. From Durango to Trinidad to Yuma to Grand Junction, I visited with the people of Colorado over the last year, often taking my family and showing up to listen and learn. Another major reason for our travel is to engage communities across Colorado about our work that is bringing $400 million to Colorado from suits against Big Pharma and its corporate leaders for illegal actions that contributed to the opioid crisis. In these visits, we are sharing the details about how we worked hard to create a bottom-up framework to responsibly invest those funds in increasing drug treatment, recovery, and education/prevention efforts. Because of this work, Colorado is a national model for taking on this critical challenge, including addressing the rise of fentanyl, which is being sold as counterfeit prescription pills–and is killing many young people. In fact, more Americans died of drug overdoses–mostly from opioids–in
the last year than ever before.

Another topic of conversation in our family is social media. Our kids are both very careful when it comes to social media. Because of the harm it can cause, I am committed to holding social media companies accountable for any actions that hurt Coloradans, particularly our kids. Indeed, our team is leading on this front, including by spearheading antitrust suits, as I discuss in this op-ed ([link removed]) .

For my kids, the number one question they ask me is how we are working to protect our land, air, and water, hold accountable those who pollute our air, defend critical protections against climate change, and take action against those who intentionally pollute Colorado waters. I recognize that Colorado’s future depends on our natural resources and that’s why we have prioritized this important work.

We’ve had a busy year...but we have much more work to do. We need your help to prevail in what will be a challenging re-election path. Once again, we will be up against millions of dollars from out-of-state corporate money. I need your help to continue our important work. Please consider making a donation today. Our campaign is and will always be powered by people like you.

I appreciate you joining me on this journey.
