This is a totally irresponsible and dangerous attack on our election integrity. We are now on a slippery slope toward illegal immigrants voting and foreign interference in our elections. It is only a matter of time before the leftists in Albany try to pass similar laws in our state legislature. The Republican Party stands firmly against this unconstitutional action and we WILL fight, using every legal means necessary, to prevent this legislation from becoming law. After more leaks last week about her Lieutenant Governor lying on official background check forms about campaign finance investigations, this week SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras resigned his position in disgrace. He was one of Andrew Cuomo's original corrupt cronies, whom Hochul decided to keep and protect even after promising to clean the stench of Cuomo's crimes out of Albany. Leaked messages showed Malatras being abusive towards staff and as we already know, he was a part of the inner circle and played a leading role in the Cuomo Coverup of nursing home deaths. Malatras' toxic moves came right out of the Cuomo handbook and his only qualification for the job was being best friends with Andrew Cuomo. New Yorkers and our SUNY students deserve much better. 'It devalues citizenship, and citizenship is the standard by which the state constitution issues or allows for suffrage in New York state elections at all levels,' Borelli said. 'If they want to vote here, they should go through the process of becoming citizens, because that is how you show a real commitment to being a part of this city and this country,' he added at a news conference held last week outside of City Hall alongside Langworthy and a number of other critics of the plan. 'The stakes are too high, the problems we face in this city are too big, for us to give away the most quintessential right of American citizenship to someone who has only lived here for 30 days.' The results were no different here in New York, as Democratic candidates for district attorney were soundly defeated by Republicans on bellwether Long Island. All across our state, Republicans gained ground, even picking up Council seats in deep-blue New York City. Simultaneously, three Democrat-sponsored statewide constitutional amendments, all initially assumed to be shoo-ins to pass, instead failed as voters wisely and correctly recognized them as hyper-partisan power grabs poorly disguised as reforms. The latest example of this is in New York City, where Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez has put forth a proposal that would allow non-citizens to vote in elections under the guise of “municipal voters.”  Read Full Here Embattled SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras resigns New York Post Embattled SUNY Chancellor James Malatras resigned Thursday morning amid mounting calls for his resignation for smearing one of disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s sexual harassment accusers. “The recent events surrounding me over the past week have become a distraction over the important work that needs to be accomplished as SUNY emerges from COVID-19,” Malatras wrote in a letter to SUNY Board of Trustees Chairman Merryl Tisch and obtained by The Post. “I believe deeply in an individual‘s ability to evolve, change, and grow, but I also believe deeply in SUNY and would never want to be an impediment to its success therefore please accept my resignation effective January 14, 2022 as SUNY’s Chancellor.” Outrage had been growing over the past weeks for Malatras, once a top confidante to Cuomo and the former director of state operations, to be fired. Read Full Here US inflation surges to 39-year high as consumer prices soar Fox Business The consumer price index rose 6.8% in November from a year ago, according to a new Labor Department report released Friday, marking the fastest increase since June 1982, when inflation hit 7.1%. The CPI – which measures a bevy of goods ranging from gasoline and health care to groceries and rents – jumped 0.8% in the one-month period from October. So-called core prices, which exclude more volatile measurements of food and energy, soared 4.9% in November from the previous year – a sharp increase from October, when it rose 4.6%. It was the steepest rate since 1991. Economists expected the index to show that prices surged 6.8% in November from the year-ago period and 0.7% from the previous month.
