John,
I wanted to email you a personal request.
Just two short weeks ago at the International LGBTQ Leaders Conference, I was presented with the 2021 Congressional Ally Award from LGBTQ Victory Institute. And I couldn’t be more grateful and humbled.
Advancing LGBTQ equality in this country, whether by speaking out against the blood donation ban on gay men, advocating against the removal of sexual orientation and gender identity from the 2020 census, or fighting for new anti-discrimination laws, has been a key priority of my time in Congress.
These are not just LGBTQ issues – these are American issues. And I’ll never stop fighting for equality.
As part of this effort, I’ve been working closely with LGBTQ Victory Institute to establish and build The Christopher Hoven Memorial Fund, named in honor of my close friend and staff member, the late Christopher Hoven. This fund directly supports the Victory Congressional Internship program allowing young LGBTQ individuals from across the country the opportunity to work on Capitol Hill and gain critical knowledge and experience to prepare themselves for a career in legislating or other policy-related work.
In honor of my friend will you consider an end-of-year donation to the Christopher Hoven Memorial Fund? Your gift could make a life-changing difference for young LGBTQ people interested in politics and help make this country a more equal and equitable place to live. Together, it is my hope that we can raise $10,000 to support these inspirational future leaders. Please click HERE to make your gift today!
Thank you for your support. It truly makes a difference.
Sincerely,
U.S. Representative Adam Schiff
P.S. Did you know you can make your gift to the Christopher Hoven Memorial Fund a monthly recurring investment? This is a fantastic way to break up one larger gift across many installments while also committing to the sustainability of the Victory Congressional Internship program.
