John, the reports from our teams in Afghanistan are truly troubling.
Imagine having to flee your home at a moment's notice, not knowing where you or your children will sleep. Now imagine living in a tent in a park. Temperatures dip into the 20s at night and you have no way to keep warm. For many Afghans, this is a daily reality.
Winter conditions are getting worse and displaced families are struggling to access adequate food and supplies. Almost 23 million people are facing food insecurity, 9 million are on the brink of famine, and 1 million children could die if they don't receive immediate treatment for malnutrition.
Our teams are on the ground in Afghanistan, and in other crisis zones, providing urgent resources and delivering cash assistance so families can purchase fuel for heat, coats, boots, hats and other winter items. But we urgently need your support, John: |
