By Jessica Vaughan
CIS Report, December 6, 2021

Joe Biden is turning a blind eye to illegal immigrants: An extreme drop in deportations has coincided with a nationwide crimewave ([link removed])
By Mark Krikorian
Unherd.com, December 10, 2021
Excerpt: When Joe Biden became president, his administration issued a series of directives to immigration agents to prioritise the worst criminals for deportation, so as to focus resources on the greatest threats to public safety. The goal was to decrease the (relatively small) number of illegal immigrant non-criminals who are deported, while increasing deportations of criminals.
The Whole Justification for Sanctuary Cities Is Wrong: Data show that immigrants report crime like everyone else. ([link removed])
By Steven A. Camarota and Jessica Vaughan
National Review, November 25, 2021
Excerpt: Despite the Biden administration’s abandonment of nearly all interior enforcement, immigration laws are not obsolete statutes that should be ignored. Congress has enacted limits on immigration for good reasons, including to reduce job competition for the poorest and least-educated Americans and to avoid burdening public coffers. Local law enforcement has a role to play in the important national goal of enforcing immigrant laws.

Migrants are flocking to the "Senda de Vida" (Path of Life) migrant camp in Reynosa, Mexico, by the thousands, enticed by a cheaper, surer, more comfortable “queue-management” arrangement that is quietly getting many into the United States – legally through a port of entry.
Refreshing: CBO Admits That Amnesty Will Cost $100 Billion-Plus ([link removed])
By David North
After spending a lifetime hearing from Open Borders types that immigration is an unmixed financial boost to this country it was refreshing to see the Congressional Budget Office agree that the proposed amnesty in the reconciliation bill, passed by the House on November 19, will cost taxpayers $133 billion.
Where Have All the Haitians Gone? ([link removed])
By Andrew R. Arthur
It is questionable, at best, that any of the Haitian migrants who had resettled in Brazil and Chile had valid U.S. asylum claims. But the ones who had entered illegally believed that it was enough to just get into the United States, at which point their removal would be unlikely. When the odds of getting in dropped, and the odds of being returned to Haiti rose, they decided not to come.
