You probably get a lot of political emails — trust me, I do, too. So I want to let you know that tonight’s fundraising deadline is real. Please allow me to explain...

Every week, I raise money through ActBlue, and on Sunday at midnight Eastern, the “fundraising week” ends. The next day (every Monday), ActBlue wires our campaign the money from the previous week. So anything you give right now, we’ll receive tomorrow.

This is important because I need to get my message out to a wide audience to win, and communication costs money — like this software I’m sending you this email with! Another example is the videos I’ll be releasing in the new year. I shot them last weekend and now they’re being edited.

After the past few years, a lot of people feel beaten down and skeptical that change is possible anymore. Politicians break their campaign promises, we get constant spin like “inflation is transitory” when it’s the worst it’s been in 40 years, and the Democratic Party is tweeting “Thanks, Joe Biden” because gas prices went down 2 cents.

Meanwhile 8 million people have been kicked off unemployment, one-third of Covid deaths have been due to lack of healthcare, and housing prices are out of control.

But we CAN solve these problems. The money is there. What we need is political will, like we had during the New Deal and World War II, when we implemented huge, universal, popular programs. As cliché as it sounds, where there’s a will, there’s a way. Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, ending fossil fuel drilling, a national jobs program — the solutions are there. Now let’s fight for them.
