John,

Six years ago today, the Paris Climate agreement was adopted when nearly 200 nations pledged to do their part to combat climate change and work to limit global warming to less than 2 degrees celsius. But in 2019, Donald Trump broke our commitment by pulling out of this agreement.

We only have a few years to make major changes before we see irreversible and profound damage to our environment, and Trump's actions set us back in our crucial efforts to combat climate change. Fortunately, President Biden rejoined the Paris Climate Agreement on his first day in office, and he's signed a series of executive orders aimed at confronting climate change -- but we need to do more.

As a doctor, scientist, and former EPA employee, Kim understands that we need to take serious action now to combat climate change, and she's working in Congress to protect our planet for future generations.

That's why Kim was proud to help pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act last month. This legislation includes provisions championed by Kim to make our forests healthier and more resilient to wildfires, protect our rivers and streams, and more.

But we can't stop there. Kim also helped pass the Build Back Better Act, which represents the largest-ever single investment in our clean energy economy and sets us on course for a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. Now, we need the Senate to act and pass this historic legislation.

Climate change is the moral issue of our time. Add your name right away if you support investing in a clean energy economy to protect our planet >>

Thanks,

Team Schrier
